How much sand does this sandpit take?

We recommend a minimum of 5 (25kg) bags of play sand, although the sandpit can take up to 8 bags without being over full.

Can I use sand from my local builders merchants?

We advise against using building sand as it is very coarse which can cause skin irritation and can also contain clay particles that stain clothing.

What is play sand?

Play sand is sand that has been mechanically washed and sieved to remove the clay and larger sand/grit particles. This leaves a fine sand that is gentle on skin, non-staining and easy to pour, dig etc so that it will work well with sand/water toys

Where can I buy playsand?

Playsand is available from all big DIY chains (B&Q, Homebase, Focus etc) garden centres, some hardware shops, and big name toystores.

Do you sell play sand?

Unfortunately courier companies will not ship any form of bagged sand in case the bag should split or leak in transit and also for security reasons. For this reason we are unfortunately unable to supply sand but it is widely available.
